Getting Around a Crowded Island
- Stay within biking distance if you can. Amelia has a paved island trail; from the south end and the Plantation area you can ride to the show field and skip parking entirely.
- Know the parking tiers. Official parking has used a remote Lot A on Bailey Road (cheaper, shuttle) and closer Lots B/C at the Golf Club (pricier, short walk). Sunday lots fill early; Friday’s Werks Reunion parking is on-site (about $40, cash).
- A1A / Amelia Island Parkway crawls on Saturday and Sunday near the resorts. If you’re driving from off-island, come over early and plan to stay all day.

About 45 minutes away: a lively beach town when the island is full
When Amelia sells out, the Jacksonville beaches are the closest spillover: roughly 45 minutes via I-95 and A1A, with the pier, surf, and the Beaches Town Center’s restaurants for your evenings, and the easiest airport access on the coast (about 35 minutes to JAX).
